Basic Design of Healing Relationship Training
Training to be a skilled facilitator of the healing relationship is discussed in both books - "The Healing Relationship" and "Calling God Collect". Below is a proposed format for the introductory training: 1) Advirtise the training as an introduction to the nature of the healing relationship across cultures and faiths, supported by extensive research. Information can be found on the intenet. 2) The training includes 3 to 4 hour "blocks" that have the following format within the group: a) one individual's personal presentation of a healing relationship experience (30 minutes), b) 1 to 2 hours of teaching from the research books, 1) 30 to 45 minutes of parable discussion by group. Group acceptance, modelling of compassion, and clarity of presentation are important components of the design. The total number of blocks needed depends on the time available, the amount of material to be covered, and the number of participants. 3) In order for the person's attending the training to become a trainer of the healing relationship experience they may need to receive one - on - one training with a facilitator on how to enter such a relationship. This usually requires 30 to 45 minutes and needs to be considered in the design of the training. When all participants have experienced the healing relationship there should be a "block" dedicated totally to discussion of these experiences, their effects on life, and their effects on the group as a whole.
4) Size of the group should be no larger than 10 and no smaller than 5 - not including the facilitator.
