H e added to these experiences graduate degrees in education and counseling.  This triple focus -- calling, research and teaching -- continues to describe Dr. David's life.  He is currently an Adjunct Professor at the College of St. Joseph in Rutland, Vermont, teaching both graduate and undergraduate students from the material on this website and its sister website www.CompassionSpace.com (which is the major information site).  He has designed and taught a class totally dedicated to understanding compassion, but also teaches several other classes.

D r. David has been continually involved in helping others with their healing and spiritual awakening.  He has worked in a wide variety of human service organizations including schools, mental health settings, private practice, rehabilitation facilities and hospitals. These healing experiences, along with epiphanies and spiritual messages, have also strongly influenced his writings. He continues to search for more complete definitions of both empathy and compassion which include the range of phenomena experienced by mankind, as well as ways to teach compassion to a diverse audience.

D r. David has been married to the same woman throughout this journey and she has provided strong support as a witness to his growth and goals.  Dr. David has two wonderful children -- compassionate and talented adults who, with their spouses and children --  share his interests and their lives.  In 2010 he was added to Who's Who in America.

F or leisure activities he likes to design gardens and landscapes, play billiards, create 3d art with the computer (see www.aClashOfCultures.com ) and collect minerals (see www.HerkimerHistory.com), but his passion is compassion and his life is largely dedicated to that.
